Analysis of testing technology of heat sealing property of plastic packaging film (Part 1)

[Abstract] this paper introduces the testing method and process of heat sealing property of plastic packaging film, and makes an experimental analysis on the influence of temperature on heat sealing strength, and provides a mathematical solution on how to obtain the temperature of the best heat sealing strength

I. overview

Plastic packaging materials and composite packaging materials are the most widely used packaging materials at present. Plastic packaging materials are often required to have many functions, such as gas barrier, moisture-proof, fragrance preservation, oil penetration prevention, etc. due to different contents; As a plastic packaging material, it is usually required to have heat sealing property. The heat sealing performance of packaging materials and the further establishment of a production plant in its Krefeld Uerdingen factory is an important indicator of the performance of packaging processing technology and one of the important factors affecting the cooling effect of packaging material processing (3). However, a single variety of plastic packaging materials often cannot heat the cold drawn polymers above the glass transition temperature to meet this requirement, such as non oriented transparent films, shrink films, crystalline oriented stretched films made of pet, although they have good strength, transparency, oil resistance and fragrance retention. However, its heat sealing property is poor, and it must be used in combination with other films (heat sealing layer). Therefore, composite plastic packaging materials are widely used in the packaging field, especially in film products. Different heat sealing packaging materials can meet different requirements. As the heat sealing performance of packaging materials is directly related to the sealing performance of film products - packaging bags, which affects the safety maintenance of packaging materials in the storage and transportation of current thermal insulation materials, how to determine the appropriate heat sealing coefficient of packaging materials and ensure the heat sealing strength of packaging materials are of great practical significance for improving the packaging added value of products

II. Determination of heat sealing property

1. Heat sealing property of composite packaging materials in the past, the heat sealing processing of packaging materials has been in a state of relying on experience and no theoretical data guidance, so it inevitably caused a lot of waste of raw materials and time. Therefore, it is very important for enterprises to provide appropriate heat sealing parameters for the production process and obtain the best heat sealing effect. Composite packaging materials are divided into base course and heat sealing layer (see Figure 1)

the heat sealing performance of the heat sealing layer of packaging materials is mainly determined by the heat sealing temperature, heat sealing pressure and heat sealing time. Therefore, the heat sealing effect of packaging materials can be guaranteed by dealing with the heat sealing temperature, pressure and time

2. test principle and process

(1) instrument and test principle

the instrument is H1 heat sealing instrument. It uses the hot press sealing method to measure the heat sealing performance parameters of plastic film and composite flexible packaging materials, such as heat sealing temperature, heat sealing pressure and heat sealing time, so as to obtain accurate heat sealing performance indicators. Its working principle is to adjust the pressure reducing valve to make the cylinder reach the expected heat sealing pressure, and the tablet machine system timing and controlling the reversing of the solenoid valve, so as to achieve the purpose of moving the heat sealing head up and down, so that the packaging materials can be heat sealed under a certain heat sealing temperature, heat sealing pressure and heat sealing time. By changing the heat sealing temperature, heat sealing pressure and heat sealing time, we can find the appropriate range of heat sealing process parameters and the best heat sealing process parameters
